|Invitation for one day meditation and Dana offering followed by Kathina Invitation ceremony on Sunday, 17th July 2016 at Kingsbury Vihara.
Asking for forgiveness and granting forgiveness is the tradition established by the Buddha as a closing ceremony (Pavarana Day) at the end of 3 months rains retreat more than 2500 years ago. It is a beautiful tradition but very difficult to practice. However if you can practice it, it will bring PEACE and Harmony not only to you but to your friends, families and to the society at large.
Kathina Chivara Dana takes place soon after end of the 3 months rains retreat.
This year our society is sponsoring Kathina at Kingsbury Vihara (309-311 Kingsbury Road London, NW9 9PE) and shall be looking after Venerable monks during 3 month rains retreat. Hence we are organising one day meditation and Dana offering (9 AM- 3 PM) at the Vihara followed by Invitation Ceremony from 5 - 7 PM on Sunday, 17th July 2016. All are welcome.
